Ordinance 2026-01 Ballot Language

Allebach Property Overview

Lower Salford Township has reached an Agreement of Sale with the Allebach family to purchase the 62.65-acre Allebach Farm, a highly visible and historic property bounded by Main Street, Quarry Road, and Stover Road. Preserving this land will permanently protect it from development and increase the Township’s preserved open space by 3.03%.

The negotiated purchase price is $21.5 million. The Township anticipates approximately $7.5 million in grant funding, with the remaining cost funded through a proposed ¼% Earned Income Tax dedicated to open space preservation—about $203 per year for the average resident.

This proposed tax will appear as a referendum on the ballot in the May primary election, giving residents the opportunity to vote on this important investment in our community’s future.

Once purchased, the property will be permanently preserved and cannot be sold.
