PECO has announced a major infrastructure upgrade in Lower Salford Township set to begin in mid-September 2025. The $332,000 investment aims to strengthen the local electric distribution system to better handle frequent and damaging storms, reduce the frequency of service outages, and support the transition to cleaner energy technologies, including solar power and electric vehicles.

What Residents Can Expect

As part of the project, PECO and its qualified contractors will install new conduit and underground electrical cable across several neighborhoods. Work is scheduled along Stormfield Drive, Huckleberry Lane, Sawyer Drive, and Oak Drive. (See Map - Blue Outlines) Construction is expected to wrap up by late November 2025.

Additional updates include the installation or replacement of equipment such as pad-mount transformers, which help manage electrical voltage within neighborhoods. These units require several feet of clearance to allow for maintenance access in the future.

While the project is designed to be minimally disruptive, temporary power interruptions may be necessary for safety during certain phases. PECO will notify residents in advance of any planned outages and encourages customers to ensure their contact information is up to date through MyAccount at peco.com/myaccount or by calling 1-800-494-4000.

All impacted areas, including streets and yards, will be restored once work is completed.
